The fabric feels cool but not wet and provides cooling performance without weight. The fabric is comfortable against the skin, conforms to all extremities of the body, can be worn against the skin for prolonged periods of time and is reusable and can be reactivated, time and time again. Only water is needed to activate the Cool Comfort Technology of 32 Degrees™ products. 32 Degrees™ offers the consumer a simplified, superior approach to alternative materials and methods of creating ones' portable personal cooling environment. 32 Degrees™ fabric comes in a multiple number of solid colors, and can be embellished by digital printing, screen printing, embroidery and embossing.
COOL COMFORT TECHNOLOGY by 32 Degrees™ has achieved with a single-ply fabric using a multi-fiber construction, what no one else has been able to achieve before. A highly technical lightweight, High Absorption / High Wicking, Comfortable, Pliable, Consumer friendly cooling fabric. 32 Degrees™ provides an engineered cooling fabric that delivers to consumers a desirable prolonged superior "cooling benefit." 32 Degrees™ is a "green fabric" / product Technology, as it is manufactured without the assistance of Polymers or Chemicals. In addition, no mechanical or outside assistance is required to use this product other then activation with water or perspiration.
How The Technology Works
The fabric is engineered with a unique variety of fibers that when structured in the designed way creates a series of high-density capillary networks where the water molecules are absorbed deep into the fabric core and hydraulically compressed into the voids within the fabric. This void within the fibers creates an orientation of the water molecules in such a way that when the product is activated (snapped) it allows for maximum evaporative cooling to take place. At the same time, because of the uniqueness of the combination of different fibers and their reaction to one another, the suppression of water loss by evaporation (High Absorption and Wicking simultaneously) suspends the water within the fibers for an extended period of time. This COOL COMFORT TECHNOLOGY is the Next New Generation of High Performance Fabrics. The fabric is comfortable and pliable and is engineered to create a prolonged personal cooling effect.
To activate the COOL COMFORT TECHNOLOGY fabric simply SOAK IT in water - WRING OUT excess water SNAP IT to activate. To reactivate simply RESNAP or repeat the 3 steps to activation. It is REUSABLE over and over by simply repeating the activation instructions.
Comparison to Present Cooling Aids
- Ice...frozen water, requires mechanical refrigeration and takes substantial time for desired consistency to be effective. Ice is heavy, bulky, and rigid. Ice does not conform well to contours when used in applications with the body. Ice has limited shelf life and can be uncomfortable or harmful when in direct contact with the skin. Ice is natural and the most widely used means of cooling the extremities of the body. The relative cost is Low.
- Phase Change Material...commonly called PCM's, use chemicals and polymers while requiring in excess of 30 minutes in a cold water or mechanical refrigerated environment to be effective. PCM's provide a cooling environment for hours and can be reactivated by repeating the above process. PCM's are designed to perform in a number of products, either placed inside or impregnated on the hosts' surface. PCM's, like Ice, melt to a liquid state as it absorbs heat from the body. PCM's are heavy weight, bulky, an uncomfortable, although they do conform to the contours of the body extremities. The Warning Labels emphasize extreme care as it pertains to the PCM's membrane integrity and cautions against product rupture. The relative cost is High!
- Alcohol Dip...a prepackaged cotton towel saturated with Isopropyl Alcohol. Product provides immediate cooling to the skin for a short time by using the Alcohol as an accelerant to achieve flash evaporation. Product is limited to a single application. Product is lite-weight and does conform to the body. The Warning Label emphasizes possible skin dryness, irritations, rashes, and consultation with a physician should any issues arise. Product contains natural fabric and is Chemically induced to provide the cooling environment. The relative cost is low. PCM's and Alcohol Dip products are both chemical in nature and require adult supervision when being used. Neither product is considered "Child Proof".
